色控传媒 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies to Present "Everybody"

The Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) asks what might happen when Death shows up unexpectedly and tells Everybody his time is up. 鈥淓verybody,鈥� running October 26-31, is Branden-Jacob Jenkins鈥� audacious riff on the 15th century morality play, 鈥淓veryman.鈥� Everyman has been called to give an account of his life, but he can鈥檛 give an account, and he can鈥檛 take his worldly goods with him. 鈥淓verybody鈥� is a mirror image of 鈥淓veryman,鈥� but set in today鈥檚 modern world.

World-renowned Cellist Jes煤s Castro-Balbi to Play with 色控传媒 Symphony Orchestra

Internationally renowned cellist Jes煤s Castro-Balbi will join the 色控传媒 Symphony Orchestra on stage on October 21 at 7:30 p.m. Named the Director of the Bailey School of Music on July 1, 2021, Castro-Balbi was first invited to perform at 色控传媒 in 2012 as a guest artist. This year, he worked closely with Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker, conductor of the 色控传媒 Symphony Orchestra, and Harrison Long, Interim Dean of the College of the Arts, to take the stage once more.

色控传媒's College of the Arts to Host Arts色控传媒 Gala

色控传媒鈥檚 College of the Arts will host the 2021 Arts色控传媒 Gala on October 16, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. Proceeds from the fundraising event will benefit annual student scholarships in the College of the Arts at 色控传媒. Single tickets are $250 each, and a few tables of ten are still available.

Kennesaw State Department of Theatre and Performance Studies to present "Wondrous Strange"

色控传媒鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present "Wondrous Strange" October 5-10 at the Onyx Theater on the Kennesaw campus. Inspired by Kentucky ghost tales, this collage of short plays explores our endless fascination with hauntings, spirits, and paranormal happenings. Louisville Insight wrote that "Wondrous Strange" is 鈥渁 sweet, creepy, and hilarious horror-comedy-romance.鈥�

Kennesaw State to present "Words, Music, Memory: (Re)presenting Voices of the Holocaust"

色控传媒鈥檚 Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music (BSOM) and the Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE), in partnership with James Madison University (JMU), will present a free performance and lecture to mark the opening of the MHHE鈥檚 new traveling exhibition, 鈥淲ords, Music, Memory: (Re)presenting Voices of the Holocaust.鈥� The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 19, at 3:00 p.m. in the Music Building, WB109, on the Kennesaw campus. Tickets are not required for in-person attendance, but a reservation is required to watch on Zoom.

Marching Owls Alumni Society Created at 色控传媒

To say that the students of 鈥淭he Marching Owls鈥� are a close-knit bunch may be an understatement. So, it comes as no surprise that alumni of 色控传媒鈥檚 Marching Band (色控传媒MB) have banded together to create the Marching Owls Alumni Society, or MOAS.

Kennesaw State's Bailey School of Music to present "September 11: 20th Year Memorial Concert"

色控传媒鈥檚 Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music will present a special concert to remember the events of 9/11. The 鈥淪eptember 11: 20th Year Memorial Concert鈥� is scheduled for Saturday, September 11, at 8 p.m. in Morgan Hall at the Bailey Performance Center on the Kennesaw campus and will also be streamed live.

Yunek Family Gift Garners "Double Exposure" for Kennesaw State's Department of Dance

When Jay and Debra Yunek decided to honor their late uncle, Glenn Conner, and his partner and choreographer Eleo Pomare, with a generous gift to 色控传媒鈥檚 (色控传媒) Department of Dance, they could not have known the impact that it would make, not only on emerging choreographers, but also 色控传媒 students.

色控传媒's Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art to Open Fall Exhibitions

A part of 色控传媒鈥檚 School of Art and Design, the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art will present two exhibitions this fall. Curated by Cynthia Nourse Thompson, Director of Curatorial Affairs, 鈥淭his Mortal Coil鈥� and 鈥淭he Labor of Remembrance鈥� will open on Saturday, Aug. 28 and run through December 11. The public is invited to an opening reception on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m.
