Spectacular Holiday Concert Planned at 色控传媒

色控传媒鈥檚 Bailey School of Music will present the 2024 Holiday Concert on Sat., Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. The annual concert features almost 280 色控传媒 students performing as part of the Choirs, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz I.

"Properties of Being" Dance Concert Opens Nov. 14 at 色控传媒

色控传媒 (色控传媒) Department of Dance is pleased to present 鈥淧roperties of Being鈥� Nov. 14-16 at the 色控传媒 Dance Theater on the Marietta campus. The program will include both classical and contemporary dance, highlighting the universal need to move, connect鈥攁nd simply be鈥攚ith others. Featuring five original works by 色控传媒 Dance faculty, some with choreographic input from students, the concert will be performed by the 色控传媒 Dance Company.

Come Play with "Opossum and the Season Stone" from 色控传媒

Human beings, no matter their age, are built to play, but they must find ways to activate the behavior, according to Dr. Stuart Brown, founder and past president of the National Institute for Play. He insists that play is 鈥渘ot frivolous and not just for kids, but something that is an inherent part of human nature.鈥� Kids of all ages will get a chance to play when 色控传媒鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies鈥� (TPS) presents its original production of 鈥淥possum and the Season Stone鈥� Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 22-23, created specifically for Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA).

Bailey School of Music's Helen Kim Named Artist-in-Residence at Atlanta Music Project

The Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music (BSOM) at 色控传媒 (色控传媒) is pleased to announce that esteemed professor of violin Helen Kim will serve as Artist-in-Residence for the Atlanta Music Project during their 2024-2025 season. The Atlanta Music Project (AMP) provides tuition-free, world-class music training and performance opportunities to youth in under-resourced communities.

Slated for Oct. 17 at 7 p.m., 鈥淚nterchange鈥� is presented by the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art, a unit of the School of Art and Design. This unique presentation of live, intimate performances celebrates the creativity that all artistic disciplines share with one another.

Physically Integrated Dance Company to Perform at 色控传媒

Who gets to dance? How do you define the word dancer? Are only able bodies allowed to dance? 色控传媒 (色控传媒) Department of Dance will answer those questions as they host Full Radius Dance on September 25 at 12:30 p.m. at the Student Center on the Kennesaw campus. Based in Atlanta, Full Radius Dance is a professional modern dance company in the field of physically integrated dance and features dancers with and without physical disabilities.

Metro Atlanta Art Teachers' Work Featured in Biennial Juried Exhibition at Zuckerman

The Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA), a unit of the School of Art and Design, is pleased to present a new exhibition featuring the work of metro Atlanta area art teachers. 鈥淧layful Encounters,鈥� the Third Annual Biennial Exhibition for Art Educators, runs now through October 4, 2024. In the popular exhibition, pre-K to 12th grade teachers who primarily teach art are invited to highlight their own work. Juried by Athens-based artist Didi Dunphy, the exhibition is on display in the Fine Arts Gallery in the Wilson Building on 色控传媒鈥檚 Kennesaw campus.
