What is the total cost for completing the program?
The MSHMI program tuition is $28,921 for residents of Georgia, $51,511 for out-of-state students, and $53,007 for international students on F-1 visa. The HMI program is on a cohort structure, for a total of thirty-six (36) credit hours that spans six semesters (2 courses each semester) in 2 years. The student will also be responsible for the É«¿Ø´«Ã½ mandatory fees and the online course fees -- these will average out to approximately $1,248 per academic year (included in the total cost). Please note that the fees are determined by the Board of Regents are subject to change every academic year.
The Program tuition includes the required textbooks, memberships to various student organizations, including (but not limited to) AMIA – the American Medical Informatics Association, TAG – Technology Association of Georgia, GA chapter of HIMSS – Healthcare Informatics SS, where they can attend workshops, present research reports, and network, and registration to various conferences in the Atlanta area. Also included with tuition is the reimbursement of certifications.

How many courses will I need to complete for the MSHMI degree?
There are twelve 3-credit-hour courses in the program for a total of 36 credit hours - 11 courses are required and 1 course is an elective. -

The É«¿Ø´«Ã½ MSHMI in the Coles College of Business provides a solid foundation for you to serve in diverse roles such as Health/Clinical Informatics Specialist, Health IT Consultant, Healthcare Project Management, Clinical Analyst, and as leaders and healthcare executives; Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO), Chief Information Officer (CIO), VP of Information Technology, and more! -
Is this program offered on-line?
The É«¿Ø´«Ã½ MSHMI is delivered through a combination of hybrid and online courses that meet at the É«¿Ø´«Ã½ Center in Kennesaw. Eight (8) of the core courses meet once a week in-person on Friday evenings at 5 PM to 7:45 PM, and three (3) of the core courses are offered fully online – typically aligned with a hybrid course, meaning you will meet every other week in those semesters. The elective course can possibly be offered online, depending on your choice. -
1What are the requirements for Admission?
To apply to the É«¿Ø´«Ã½ MSHMI program in the Coles College of Business, the student must submit an application, all previous college transcripts, and an application letter. Recommendation letters are optional and may be requested if additional materials are required to make a decision on the application. Are there any additional requirements for international students?
International students have additional requirements which are outlined in the "Graduate Admission" section of the catalog and on the Graduate Admission's website. All international students are required to submit an evaluated transcripts for any transcript outside of the United states, and official TOEFL or IELTS scores sent directly to É«¿Ø´«Ã½ Graduate Admissions. -
Are there any Graduate Research Assistantships available for MSHMI students?
Yes. There are a limited number of competitive Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) available. GRAs provide a partial tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. Students work with a faculty on a research project, and therefore subject to faculty/project availability.
